Self-Reliance &
Heritage Association
This corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
B. The purpose of the Self-Reliance and Heritage Association (SRHA) is to offer both adult and youth learning opportunities, hands-on workshops, and cultural events that introduce or enhance a greater awareness of: agricultural, homesteading, Appalachian and American heritage, wilderness, environmental health, nature education, as well as plant and tree traditional use and identification skills.
The Self-Reliance and Heriage Association will accomplish its purpose by hosting public educational events and workshops both large and small throughout the year. The SRHA will also work with homeschooling groups, public schools, farmer’s markets, community and civic groups, to offer both in-person and online training sessions for youth and adults.
Temporary or permanent outdoor and indoor learning labs will be used at public and small group events and workshops to allow attendees to garner hands-on skill building experiences. Workshops and events will be facilitated by a combination of volunteer and paid experts in their respective fields.
The SRHA published ebooks and printed publications and homeschool curriculum will further our goals of reaching youth and adults on not just a local, regional, or state, but a nationwide scale.
